Summary

The Easy Life in Kamusari - 189 pages, finished. I really enjoyed this, plus I learned a lot about forestry.
The Book of Goose - 81 pages. Won the Tournmant of Books this year, but I'm not enamored so far.
The Last Cuentista - 132 pages. This Dystopian thriller won the 2022 Newbery, and I can't wait to get back to the audiobook!
The Green Mile - 47 pages. Stephen King - 'nuff said. Another I can't wait to get back to.

Total, pages: 449
Total, hours: 9 hr 14 min (6 hr 30 min reading, 2 hr 44 min audio)

I'm pleased with my results, given I took the evening "off".

Hours 13 - 18

 Since last update:

The Green Mile - 47 pgs

I ended up hanging out with family most of the evening. I'll likely turn in soon, but am hoping to be back for the last hour. Final update tomorrow.

Hours 7 - 12

 Since last update:

The Easy Life in Kamusari - Last 131 pgs. I really enjoyed this one.
The Last Cuentista - 56 pgs (audio). This is a a Newbery winner and very good. I took a nice walk while listening and just wanted to keep going!

My daughter will be arriving soon, so I'll be taking an hour or two off then getting back to it!

Hours 1 - 6

Aaack! The time is going by too fast! I had an exhausting week and didn't get enough sleep last night, so I'm taking a more relaxed approach this time. I read the first hour, then napped the second. I'll probably do 6-hour updates here with pages read, then add hours at the end.

The Book of Goose - 81 pgs
The Last Cuentista - 17 pgs (audio)
The Easy Life in Kamusari - 58 pgs

Dewey's Readathon 4/29/23

I'm late prepping for this readathon, but here's the stack I'll be choosing from:

The Collected Plays of Neil Simon Vol. 2 (already in progress)
The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera (Newbery winner), also on audio
Whereabouts by Jhumpa Lahiri
The Book of Goose by Yiyun Li
The Easy Life in Kamusari by Shion Miura
Nature Love Medicine - essays by various authors
The Case of the Missing Map by Carolyn Keene (Nancy makes an appearance at most readathons in honor of my childhood. 😉)
Every Day in Tuscany - Frances Mayes
In Other Rooms, Other Wonders by Daniyal Mueenuddin, also on audio
The Green Mile by Stephen King

It's 10:00 p.m. now and I start bright and early at 6:00 a.m, so it's off to bed soon (and hoping I can sleep - something I'm not great at. 😑)
